Semmelweis University Faculty of Health Care
A new program with international standards of excellence

The 4-year English language degree program at Semmelweis University’s Faculty of Health Care leads to the Bachelor of Sciences in Physiotherapy degree.

Semmelweis University’s Faculty of Health Care is accredited by the Hungarian Accreditation Board. The degree is fully accepted in all EU countries, and graduates may practice in Canada and in the United States after passing the necessary exams.

The Faculty of Health Care is part of the Semmelweis University campus, and is located in Budapest, Hungary’s capital, a lively metropolis in the middle of Europe. The Faculty launched its English language Physiotherapy program in 2004.

Semmelweis University enrols 50 students each year in its English language Physiotherapy Program.

Exemption from Taking the Entrance Examination and Transfer Credits
Candidates currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in a science-related field may qualify for exemption from taking the entrance examination and may receive transfer credit for some of their courses. Decisions are made on a case-by-case basis, and are pendant on the student providing official transcripts and course descriptions equivalent to the requirements of Semmelweis University’s Faculty of Health Care.

Living in Budapest
Students can expect to spend anywhere from US$ 8,000 to 15,000 per year on their living expenses, depending on their living standards. Additional costs include textbooks (US$ 400-600 per year) and insurance (US$ 280 per year).
